St. John the Wonderworker Cemetery

"Therefore you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you." ~ Jesus Christ, John 16:22

Formerly known as Chestnut Hill, the cemetery located on Felmey Road, Winfield, PA, was acquired for our parish by our diocese in December of 2018. The site was legally renamed St. John of Shanghai and San Francisco Cemetery, doing business as St. John the Wonderworker Cemetery, and is now offering plots to the public.

We seek to have this Church cemetery be a place that inspires hope and faith, trusting the Lord that the memory of our loved ones be kept eternal. Since purchasing the land - while still early in its plans - our mission parish has improved the cemetery grounds from its formerly neglected state and intends to continue doing so well into the future, as adjacent to the cemetery is the proposed site of a future church temple. These improvements included partial road repairs, more regular groundskeeping, replacement flags for veterans’ plots, and more.

Two sections are available: the Common Cemetery (Section 1) which is open to all, and the Church Cemetery (Section 2) which is a section consecrated for Church members and is adjacent to the site of our future temple. Both sections are maintained by the Church and governed by its bylaws.

If you are looking to purchase plots, we will do our best to accommodate your preferred spot. A map of currently available locations can be emailed or texted to you upon request.
