Fr. George Sharonoff
Fr. George, our Rector, is a graduate of St. Tikhon’s Orthodox Seminary (B.A. and M.Div.) and served as Deacon and Subdeacon previously at our mission, helping its development from the start under Fr. Claude's guidance. He was ordained to the priesthood on Sept. 2/Sept. 15 7528 (2019) at Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville, NY. Fr. George is descended from White Army exiles from Communism in the post-Revolution Russian emigre community of Harbin in China, where our patron St. John served as Bishop in Shanghai. He grew up in Russian-American communities in northern California, including on the Russian River, and has been active in Orthodox life in Pennsylvania for a number of years. His Matushka, Anna Sharonoff, is a professional musician and music educator who helps develop our mission's choir.

The Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest Claude Vinyard
Our Rector Emeritus, Fr. Claude, is a long-time Orthodox priest, who, prior to becoming founding pastor of our mission, served a number of historic Orthodox parishes in Pennsylvania's coal region and elsewhere, including parishes in Mount Carmel and Centralia. His involvement in the parish renewal effort at Christ the Savior Church in Sugar Notch, PA, led directly to our establishment of the mission in Lewisburg. A native of Flint, MI, he is a graduate of St. Tikhon's Orthodox Seminary, a former railroad conductor who traveled across the U.S in the heyday of trains, and is a U.S. Navy veteran and former VA Hospital Chaplain. Fr. Claude is now retired (his third retirement actually in his selfless service to the Orthodox Church!) but is still attending our mission and mentoring and providing assistance with services.
Subdeacon Kentigern Paul Siewers
Subdeacon Paul Siewers received a diploma in pastoral theology from the St. John of Kronstadt Pastoral School (Diocese of Mid-America) in 7526/2018. Holding a Ph.D. in medieval literature, he also is faculty advisor to the Bucknell Orthodoxy Christian Fellowship. He was ordained a subdeacon by Bishop Luke at Jordanville in 7527/2019, and tonsured a Reader by Bishop Nicholas at Mayfield in 7525/2017. A native of Chicago, raised in Unitarianism and Christian Science, he converted and was baptized Orthodox in 7507/1999. His academic work relates to patristic Christianity and literature, and he has helped organize conferences at Orthodox seminaries, and has co-edited and contributed to books about Orthodoxy and current issues. A newspaperman before becoming an English Professor, he and his family have lived in Lewisburg since 2002.
